Lateness policy

The policy aims to discourage parents and carers from collecting their children late to encourage them to talk to the Manager if they are having difficulty reaching the nursery on time and to deal quickly and effectively with parents who refuse to respect the policy.

Policy

The nursery is open from 8 am until 6:00 pm, and parents are expected to arrive at the nursery to collect their children by 6:00 pm.

Parents who arrive after 6:00 pm must sign the late book.

If a parent, or carer knows that they are going to be late they MUST ring the nursery before 6 pm to inform that they are running late. Please do not message the Family app.  

Parents who are late twice within two weeks will be contacted by the Manager to discuss the lateness.

·      If parents are having a particular problem the manager will help with advice.

·      If the parents or Carers are still constantly late the matter will be brought to the Management committee to arrange the next steps.

If parents/carers do not cooperate in the planning to minimise late collection, this may result in their child’s place being terminated.  

A minimum of 2 people will stay with the child until their parents/carers arrive.

 PLEASE NOTE: if a child is not collected by 6:45 pm and the nursery cannot get in touch with the parent, carers or any of the emergency contacts. The nursery will ring the duty desk Social Care Team London Borough of Southwark.
