Nutrition
The food that children eat plays an essential role in their growth and development and also influences their focus and learning abilities.
It's also important to note that the way young children engage with food can shape their eating habits as they mature. Therefore, teaching and encouraging healthy eating practices from an early age is vital for fostering a positive relationship with food.
At SRC, we pride ourselves on having menus that are thoughtfully crafted to ensure that every child enjoys a balanced and nutritious diet.
Our daily menus include all the necessary food groups in line with the government guidelines set out in the Action for Children guidance.
For children under the age of one, we closely adhere to the First Steps Nutrition Trust guidelines. You can read their helpful guide, Eating Well: The First Year, for more information.
“Nutrition in the early years is not just about eating. It’s the first step towards a healthy life. Feed them right, and watch them grow, explore and thrive.”
